MACE features in Blue Peter tonight

A film shot in the School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering (MACE) is to be shown on the children's programme Blue Peter on Thursday, 13 March (5.30pm).
As part of their 2014 Sport Relief activities, the Blue Peter presenters, alongside members of the University's Formula Student team, built three pedal-powered cycles. Each presenter was assigned a different configuration, resulting in two-, three- and four-wheeled recumbent cycles. The vehicles are to be used in a 4.5km race between the three presenters.
Filming took place with the presenters and students in the School's workshops during the building process, with technicians on hand to provide help and guidance. The race was filmed on the 1.5km cycle circuit at UCLAN Sports Arena with the Manchester students invited along to provide support if needed.
The Blue Peter 'Pedal Power' film will be broadcast on Thursday, 13 March at 5.30pm on the CBBC channel and will be available for the following seven days on:
