Open meeting for policy researchers

03 Mar 2014

Researchers and professional staff interested in policy engagement are being invited to attend the first Policy@Manchester Annual Meeting on 26 March.

The open meeting, which is open to staff and research students, starts at 10.30am and will discuss new research on how policymakers engage with academic research.

Policy@Manchester is an initiative to support the mobilisation of knowledge in research and teaching to inform the development of public policy. It has 380 internal members from across the University, and nearly 6,000 followers on Twitter – including MPs, senior decision-makers and policy influencers.

Attendees at the Annual Meeting will find out how to get involved in Manchester Policy Week 2014, which runs from 4-8 November and has a theme of ‘Addressing Inequalities’, supporting the University’s Social Responsibility signature programme.

Policy@Manchester’s future plans and ambitions will also be unveiled. Attendance is free and there will be lunch provided for all participants.
