I host Contact the Elderly Tea Parties to make a difference to the elderly people in our community

Making a difference

This charity organise regular Sunday afternoon tea parties for people over 75, who live with little or no social support. I hosted a party last Sunday for the fourth time.  It's a lovely afternoon for both the guests and my family, my children get involved and help bake cakes and serve tea and coffee to everyon,e which they really enjoy.

Our guests in particular love chatting to us and each other. Some of them haven’t seen anyone since the last meeting a few weeks before and this makes you realise how lonely some elderly people are in our community. A couple of hours out on a Sunday afternoon makes a huge difference to their lives and I urge anyone who has a little time to that part and support the elderly people within our community.
