Kate Dack is making a difference

I connect our research with the public

Making a difference

I arrange projects to engage the public with University research. We need to listen carefully and involve the public in planning research. This can be achieved in different ways; one approach is to run public events about research developments and capture the public’s reaction.

Nowgen is running an event like this during Manchester Science Festival this year. The public will explore how openly medical data should be shared to help research and their views will be fed into a consultation by the Nuffield Council on Bioethics and will influence future policy.
