School Governor Initiative Recruitment Event

27 Sep 2013

Drop-in sessions and lunchtime presentation on Tuesday, 22 October

Are you interested in volunteering? Have you ever considered being a governor in a primary or secondary school?

If you answered ‘Yes’ to either of these questions then you should come and find out more about the University’s Schools Governor Initiative (UMSGI) on Tuesday 22 October.

Colleagues are invited to drop-in and meet with representatives from our partner organisation the School Governors’ One Stop Shop (SGOSS) to discuss the governor role and recruitment process. Please join us for tea and coffee in Christies where other school governors will also be available to tell you more about the role.

Vacancies exist in a range of schools in the region and University staff have a wide range of skills and knowledge that they can offer to schools and really make a difference. There are currently 115 school governors amongst university staff so you will always be well supported through our own internal network.

Two sessions will be held, at 10.30-12pm and 1.45-3pm, in Christie’s Bistro and there will be a Presentation by SGOSS at 12.30pm in The Council Chamber in the Whitworth Building.

Everyone welcome!
