Celebrate Black History Month during October

26 Sep 2013

Free events for everyone!

Black History Month is held every October throughout Britain. The aims are:

  • To promote knowledge of black history, culture and heritage
  • Disseminate information on positive black contributions to British society
  • Heighten the confidence and awareness of black people about their cultural heritage.

We're very lucky to have a diverse workforce and student population at the University with more than 15% declaring they are from a BME background.

During October we have a varied timetable of events on campus – from a distinguished lecturer to a world-renowned storyteller to interactive campus walks. There's something that will appeal to everyone.

All events are free, but do require registration.
