Manchester Policy Blogs launches

A new online initiative that provides researchers with the platform to engage new audiences on a range of public policy issues has been launched.

Manchester Policy Blogs aims to showcase the University’s considerable contributions to important policy debates and generate lively discussion and debate.

Initial content streams within the site include Whitehall Watch, providing critical analysis of the civil service, government departments and their activities, while Science, Technology and Environment Policy focusing on scientific research that has relevance to current policy debates in the UK and further afield.

Policy Book Reviews will provide critical but concise reviews of titles concerned with different aspect of public policy, and other subject streams are expected to follow in the coming months.

The new platform has been developed by Policy@Manchester, supported by The University of Manchester Research Institute (UMRI).

All contributions are welcomed, whether they are from experienced bloggers, researchers keen to disseminate their policy-relevant work, or postgraduate students looking to gain new experience and skills.

A special Bloggers’ Cafe event has been organised for those interested in getting involved. It will be held on Thursday 3 October 2013, 12.30pm-1.30pm, in the Humanities Bridgeford Street Building.
