The Manchester Welcome 2013 Distinguished Lecture Series

As part of the welcome activities for new students this year, the University is delivering a series of lectures by some of our most distinguished academics.

These non-specialist lectures are open to all students and there are also a limited number of places for University staff who would like to attend.

  • Monday, 16 September - Computers and Brains, Professor Steve Furber
  • Tuesday, 17 September - Beneath the bandages: Mummies, Magic and Manchester, Dr Joyce Tyldesley
  • Wednesday, 18 September - Professor Michael Wood in conversation with Tristram Hunt MP
  • Thursday, 19 September - The Uses of Science, Professor Sir John Sulston
  • Friday, 20 September- Dinosaurs and the origins of Life, Dr Phil Manning

All lectures are from 6.30 - 7.30 pm in Lecture Theatre B, University Place.
