New lease of life for old suitcases

26 Jun 2013

If you have a spare suitcase, holdall or sports bag, Pure Innovations, a locally based charity which supports people with disabilities and disadvantaged groups across the Greater Manchester area can make very good use of it.

Young people leaving care move quite regularly through no fault of their own. These youngsters cannot afford to buy themselves luggage of any kind to move their belongings and so have to use bin bags to carry all their personal possessions, often on public transport because they have no other way of getting to their new locations.

Pure Innovations is asking for donations of any kind of small holdall, suitcase or sports bag which can be passed on to members of this often overlooked disadvantaged group.

As your thoughts turn to holidays and you are wrestling your suitcases out of the loft, you may find you have a small case left over that you no longer use, or a sports bag that you’d forgotten all about.

Please don’t stuff them back in the attic, instead take them along to the Stores Counter (G.208) in the Stopford Building where they will be kept until Pure Innovations collect them for distribution to young grateful people in the area who have so very little they can call their own.
