Middle-Aged Memory Study - Participants wanted!

Description

We are looking for volunteers to participate in our study investigating how are memories store and process different kinds of information once we get to middle-age. This experiment will last approximately 2 hours. You will study some pictures of everyday things (e.g.., words and pictures of scenes, faces, objects and abstract art). Your memory for this information will be tested. You will also take part in some standard neuropsychological testing to evaluate your more general cognitive performance. The experiment will take place on campus, and you will receive monetary compensation for your time.

To take part, you must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Be between the ages of 40 and 70
  • Be able to take part in the experiment and be able to provide informed consent, normal/corrected-to-normal vision and hearing.
  • Good fluent English is required.

Because of the nature of the experiment, the following persons will NOT be able to take part:

  • People with neurological history including previous head injury or concussion.
  • People with a history of stroke.
  • People with substantial psychiatric history, including depression (past or present) and anxiety (past or present).
  • People who have experienced drug or alcohol dependence in the last 12 months.
