10 Jun 2026
Delivering Manchester 2035 - how can we foster mutual understanding and smoother collaboration across disciplines to become faster, bolder and better connected? Find out on Wednesday, 8 July.
Each research discipline has its own ethos – distinct ways of asking questions, applying methods, and communicating ideas. This diversity can sometimes feel like a barrier to collaboration, even within schools, let alone across the wider university.
Interdisciplinary research is increasingly vital, driven by complex societal challenges and evolving funding landscapes. It’s also an essential part of our Manchester 2035 strategy leap, Research excellence to impact and foundation, Organised for success: one university.

You can find out in the latest session of our Interdisciplinarity & series, which includes bridging research cultures through dialogue and speed networking, at the Contact Theatre on Wednesday, 8 July.
