Canvas submission issues

We are aware of technical issues currently affecting some student work submissions in Canvas

Tuesday 5 May, 2:55pm update

Further to the message earlier today regarding the work submission issue in Canvas, we now know this to be a localised rather than a widespread issue.

Most students with submissions due today should be able to submit these via Canvas successfully, in the usual way. If students have work due today, they should proceed to submit this via Canvas.

A small number of students may still experience an issue submitting their work. If this is the case, this should be raised via Connect (selecting ‘Canvas’ as the service) and they should rest assured that they will not be disadvantaged or penalised because of this.

Tuesday 5 May, 10:05am update

Our teams are working with Instructure, the supplier of Canvas, as a priority to resolve this issue.

Students have been advised that if they have an imminent deadline, to continue to try to submit their work through Canvas. However, if they are unable to submit by the deadline due to this issue, have been reassured that they will not be disadvantaged or penalised.

Please continue to reassure any students of this who may be raising this issue with you directly.

We have emailed all taught students and are continuing to share updates on Student News.

Our IT and Digital teams are actively monitoring the situation and working closely with the supplier. 

We will share further updates once more information becomes available.
