Everyone is invited to our 2026 Making a Difference Awards!

Join us live from the University’s Whitworth Hall to celebrate how our colleagues, alumni and external partners are making a difference.

We’re hosting our annual Making a Difference Awards ceremony live from the Whitworth Hall, where we will be presenting our winners and highly commended awards in person. You can tune in live on YouTube and help us celebrate the positive impact our University community is making on society and the environment, and celebrate colleagues and students from right across the University.

The 2026 shortlist includes projects as far-ranging as transforming psychosis care through digital innovation, supporting a menopause-friendly workplace to a partner-enabled learning project which strengthens our students confidence in leading conversations on cancer awareness.

The event is an opportunity for us all to recognise, celebrate and show appreciation for the social responsibility commitments and achievements of our students, colleagues, alumni and external
partners.

Join our Chancellor, Nazir Afzal OBE, and President and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Duncan Ivison live online on Wednesday, 6 May, from 6pm.
