House Services champion engagement in colleague survey

23 Mar 2026

Estates and Facilities are focusing on accessibility and inclusivity to boost engagement in this year’s Your Voice Matters survey

Team of House Services

Every voice matters in shaping the future of our University, and when each of us feels heard and part of a shared purpose, we build a stronger, more inclusive community together.

House Services, part of Estates and Facilities, are making impressive strides in this year’s Colleague Engagement Survey, Your Voice Matters, with a completion rate of 55% at the halfway point.

Recognising that many colleagues in House Services are non-desk based, recent efforts have focused on making it easy for colleagues to take part in the survey. iPads have once again been distributed to Cluster Managers so colleagues can take part during their working day and QR codes have been provided on posters and takeaway cards to enable them to complete the survey at a time that works for them.

For the first time this year, the introduction of Survey Champions has brought a personal touch and demonstrates the level of teamwork within House Services – these Champions are on hand to support and encourage peers, answer questions, and guide colleagues through the process.

This builds on last year’s activities to get all our non-desk based colleagues online so they could access our Essential Courses. This groundwork laid a strong foundation for this year’s survey drive, proving the power of practical support and digital inclusion.

Initiatives like this help to foster inclusivity and help everyone feel like they belong and that they have a chance to have their say – no matter their role at the University. Survey Champions and accessible technology help everyone participate, reinforcing our commitment to an inclusive workplace where all team members shape our future.

Angela Chant, House Services Manager, shared: “I'm proud to see how our team has come together this year, embraced the survey, and supported each other in completing it. It shows the strong community mindset we have in House Services and, by making the survey accessible, we have given the team the opportunity to have their voices heard.”

The Your Voice Matters survey closes on Tuesday, 31 March. Don’t miss your chance to have your say. Together, we can ensure every voice is counted and continue to build a place where you matter.
