Our financial procedures and regulations have changed - here’s what you need to know

Our Financial Regulations and Procedures have been refreshed, and the updated versions are now available. Please take a few minutes to read what’s changed and make sure you’re working in line with the new requirements.

Key changes: 

  • Updated corporate governance references, reflecting changes introduced since the last update in November 2024 (including the creation of the University Executive).
  • Clearer guidance on contract approval, confirming that the Central Procurement Team must be involved in negotiating and approving all contracts over £25k.
  • Expanded detail on the consequences of non‑compliance when using corporate purchasing cards and frequent traveller cards.
  • Improved guidance on electronic signatures and email approvals, setting out when and how they should be used.
  • A broader definition of fraud, aligned with the new requirements of the Failure to Prevent Fraud legislation.
