Attend the Virtual Association of Higher Education Professionals Conference 2026

20 Feb 2026

All Professional Services colleagues are invited to apply for a fully funded place at the Association of Higher Education Professionals Virtual Conference 2026

As part of our institutional partnership with the Association of Higher Education Professionals (AHEP) we have twenty funded places on their 2026 Annual Conference from Thursday 7 May to Friday 8 May 2026.

This year's conference title is: Thriving Together: Reimagining Professional Services in a Shifting Higher Education Sector. You can find out more about the theme and content of the conference on the AHEP website.

The conference is designed for all higher education professionals, from newcomers to seasoned managers. Whether you are just starting your HE career journey or are a senior leader, you will find valuable insights and practical strategies to navigate the complexities of a sustainable future.

There are 20 places available in total:

  • 12 places are open to all PS Staff with two of these places are ring-fenced for colleagues at grades 2-5 who have not previously had the opportunity to attend a conference
  • 7 places ring-fenced for AHEP members
  • 1 place is held for the UoM AHEP Ambassador, if they cannot attend it will be opened out to all staff.

Colleagues who are allocated a place will be asked to share their learnings from the conference with colleagues e.g. by drafting a blog post or running a lunch & learn session.

AHEP strive to make all their events and offerings as accessible and inclusive as they can and we are keen these funded places are open to all staff. If you secure a place and have accessibility requirements, we will endeavour to do everything that we can to support your needs.
