Take part in the 2026 Universally Manchester Festival – a community day for all

11 Feb 2026

From Manchester for the world – get involved in sharing the breadth of work that goes on at the University with our local friends and neighbours

Universally Manchester Festival

To support our ambition to be a great civic university for the 21st century and as part of our commitment to enhancing our relationship with local communities we will once again be holding, our annual university-wide festival on Saturday, 13 June 2026, 11.00am - 4.30pm

The festival offers opportunities for visitors to engage with our research, teaching and learning, cultural institutions, colleagues, students, and community partners. It provides a chance for you to engage with communities you may not otherwise engage with; to share the wonder of your work; and show how you are making a difference to wider society.

Get involved

This year’s festival highlights three themes: creating a greenerhealthier and fairer world for all. If you are interested in taking part and hosting an activity, then please register your interest by completing the expression of interest online form by 4pm, Tuesday 7 April 2026.

The event will take place on campus and the call for expressions of interest is open to all academic and professional services colleagues, students and community partners. From music to engineering, healthcare to literature, science to the creative arts – we want to hear from you and would love you to get involved. This festival will welcome thousands of individuals and families from our local neighbourhoods and beyond to take part in this free, fun, and interactive event on campus.

“Everyone has been very friendly. It’s been great for the kids to learn lots of new topics. I love that it was very interactive.” –  Festival visitor

“It was a pleasure to support such an important event, which aimed to welcome community members onto campus and share knowledge in a fun and engaging way.” –  University staff member
