Oracle CRM system - upcoming downtime

23 Jan 2026

Oracle Customer Relationship Management (CRM) will be unavailable from 10am on Thursday 26 February until 10am on Tuesday 3 March 2026 as part of a necessary system upgrade which will ensure the system remains secure.

All integrations with other systems will be turned off. As a result, all CRM data will not be updated until the system is switched back on.

Users should complete any essential tasks in Oracle CRM before 10am on Thursday 26 February 2026.

While the upgrade is in progress, colleagues will not be able to:

  • Access Oracle CRM
  • Create or manage SPOT* IDs, so will be unable to create records for new starters, visitors, IT access, consultants, agency staff and organisations
  • Process or log accommodation complaints
  • Search for student or staff IDs
  • Run or create reports
  • Print ID cards for staff, students, or visitors
  • Print Library ID cards

* SPOT, or Single Point of Truth, IDs refer to the ID number unique to each individual and valid for the lifetime of their association with the university.

Please share this message with colleagues as needed. Further updates will be shared as the upgrade progresses.

The Oracle CRM system is one of the top 10 most critical systems at the University. It supports critical processes on a day-to-day basis. Over the last few years, the project has worked hard to document and analyse these processes, working with stakeholders across the university to ensure end-to-end testing can be completed ahead of the go live. Through challenging times, the project has progressed to ensure we are ready to perform the system upgrade.

If you have any questions or concerns about the downtime or its impact, visit the information document. For more information, please email OCRM@manchester.ac.uk.
