Your Voice Matters Survey theme update – bullying, harassment and discrimination

Highlighting support and guidance during Anti-Bullying Week 2025

This year, Anti-Bullying Week runs from Monday 10 November to Friday 14 November. It’s a great opportunity for us all to reflect on how we can support one another, explore the resources available, and learn how to use Report and Support to confidentially share any concerns about bullying, harassment, or discrimination in the workplace.

In our recent Your Voice Matters survey, only 44% of colleagues agree they’re satisfied with how bullying/harassment/discrimination is addressed at the University — a clear indicator that there’s more we can do to build a culture where everyone feels heard, respected, and supported.

Sarah Fox, Executive Director of EDI and Eleanor Morrissey, Executive Director of People said:

‘We take the feedback from our recent Colleague Engagement Survey extremely seriously, particularly the concerns raised around bullying and harassment. No member of our university community should ever feel unsafe or unsupported at work. We are committed to fostering a culture of respect, accountability, and psychological safety.

In response to the survey, we are accelerating our efforts to strengthen reporting mechanisms, enhance training for all staff, and ensure that every concern is addressed with transparency and care.

We will share updates over the coming months on our progress as we continue to build a more supportive and fairer environment for all."

As part of Anti-Bullying Week, learn more about our commitment to dignity at work and how you can get involved.

Report and Support Lunch and Learn

Report and Support is a confidential platform and can be used to tell us about any form of bullying, harassment, discrimination or hate that you have experienced or witnessed. Join our dedicated lunch and learn session to find out more about the service, how it can be used and what to expect from using the platform.

Other support at the University

All of the support available at our University, and what we mean by bullying, harassment and discrimination can be found on our dedicated Staffnet page here, and as part of our Dignity at Work policy. This includes contacts across the University, information on Trade Unions, and FAQs.
