Planned network downtime in October and November
01 Oct 2025
What you need to know

The network that connects the University of Manchester underpins everything we do, which is why essential works have been planned to ensure our network is as stable, resilient and future-ready as it can be. This October and November, essential work is being undertaken to bring all colleagues and students the high-quality connectivity they expect. We are investing in upgrading legacy systems to ensure our network and its services are reliable and supported.
Planned works will lead to some service disruptions but these works have been scheduled to take place out of hours wherever possible to ensure minimal disturbance to your day. Key stakeholders will be contacted by the project team directly to help teams prepare for service interruptions at busier times.
IT colleagues will be monitoring affected services to ensure everything returns to normal as expected.
In addition to WiFi and wired network connectivity on campus, networked service including (but not limited to) Campus Solutions, Oracle CRM, My Manchester, DUO Login and some data storage services may be affected.
