Switchboard upgrade improves service for colleagues and external callers

The University Switchboard is now live on a new platform, improving reliability, visibility, and service for both staff and external callers.
The new system replaces the legacy switchboard application and brings a more stable and accessible experience for operators and users alike. It also gives switchboard managers better oversight of records and enables more efficient responses to enquiries.
As part of the transition, the existing switchboard database was securely transferred to the new platform. No additional data has been collected and the transfer was carried out in line with University data governance standards.
This upgrade is part of the wider Teams Voice programme, which continues to modernise how we manage telephony services across the University. You can read more about the switchboard upgrade on our support site.
