Reflecting on the first year using SEAtS

As we wrap up another academic year, we want to thank you for your continued support with adopting the Student Engagement and Attendance System (SEAtS). Your commitment has played a vital role in helping to support student academic engagement and wellbeing.

Success

Implementing SEAtS was a significant undertaking and one of the largest operational rollouts we've seen at the University. Working collaboratively across all faculties and professional services has made this possible and we are grateful for the collective effort.

This year alone, we’ve recorded an impressive 3.4 million student check-ins—a testament to the scale of the rollout and the commitment of everyone involved.

Continuous improvement

We’re always looking for ways to improve. One enhancement launched this year was the introduction of live codes, which change every 30 seconds. This was developed thanks to feedback from academics and when used in teaching activities, it has helped to improve the accuracy of attendance data.

Looking ahead

SEAtS will be back for the next academic year, continuing to support student engagement and success.
