Introducing People support to the Connect platform

Connect will serve as a single platform for both IT Services and People support providing service excellence to colleagues.

As part of our commitment to service excellence through delivery and continuous improvement of our services, the People Directorate will be moving some of its services onto the Connect platform. 

The initial phase will see our People Services, Pensions and Rewards teams moving away from multiple email addresses for colleagues to access these services, bringing all enquiries via the HR module on the Connect platform in Summer 2025. 

The People Services, Pensions and Rewards teams are at the heart of the process throughout the employee lifecycle – from recruitment, onboarding, pay and benefits, pensions and a range of services for colleagues, managers and leaders. 

Listening to our colleagues and stakeholders has helped us focus on priority changes and improving how colleagues get People support is a major step forward for the Directorate. 

The move to Connect will: 

  • Improve the employee experience: Colleagues will be able to access a user-friendly portal where they will be able to track and manage their HR cases. 
  • Provide access to information and self-service: Colleagues will also be able to access information from within the portal to help them resolve their query quicker. 

Working in collaboration with IT Services and system experts, we are intending to implement People Services into the Connect platform in Summer 2025. In the meantime, if you need People Services, Reward or Pensions support, you should use the existing email addresses: 

What is Connect? 

Connect is the portal for colleagues and students to get support from our Professional Services colleagues. This innovative new platform, powered by ServiceNow, was successfully launched in IT Services in October 2024. Find out more: 

Connect will improve how we deliver customer service and other functions across the University for the benefit of colleagues and students. 

What’s Next? 

Over the next few months, we will be building the People processes into the platform. To support the implementation of People into Connect we are in the process of identifying colleagues across the University who use these processes and inviting them, along with those who regularly interact with our People Services, Pensions and Rewards teams, to join our Stakeholder Champion group.
