Reminder: Updating Reading Lists Online: Advance Preview Sessions for Teaching Staff
On Tuesday, 1 July Reading Lists Online will introduce a new user interface, bringing an improved experience for staff and students. Read more and sign up for an advance preview.
Supporting Students with LinkedIn Learning
The Library has a variety of resources available for your students to enhance their digital capabilities including a Digital Tools for Learning Workshop, Library Support for Digital Skills online resource and guidance on how to use LinkedIn Learning. To support students in utilising LinkedIn Learning Staff can:
- Become a Curator: Use our Becoming a LinkedIn Learning Curator online resource to understand the role of a curator. This will help you select and organise appropriate learning materials for your students and create engaging learning paths.
- Join Our Pilot Program: Get involved in our pilot program to work with the Library to create a curated learning pathway for your students. If you are interested in taking part, please contact your Engagement Librarian.
Research
Open Data Event
Join our multi-disciplinary panel for an interactive discussion on the use of open and accessible data in modern research, the challenges of both using and sharing open data, and the future of open data research methods. The session will include a panel discussion, with time for tea, coffee, and networking with other attendees.

New My Research Essentials workshops
This May, two new workshops have been added to our My Research Essentials schedule:
- Introduction to Research Data Stewardship: a key role in modern research, Wed, 14 May, 10-11am.
- Introduction to executable papers in Quarto and Docker, Tue, 27 May, 2-3.30pm.
We also have the next in our series of Research Data Conversations, Wed, 28 May, 12-1.30pm.
The session will be led by Dr Hannah Long, Research Associate in Health Inequalities, who will lead a discussion on open data practices for qualitative health researchers and her Open Research Fellows project on developing a Data Note guide specifically for qualitative research datasets.

The Office for Open Research can help you to better understand the reach and impact of research outputs by providing comprehensive citation analysis, a suite of research intelligence analysis tools, and guidance on the responsible use of research metrics. Our Collections
New Digital Reference Collection: Cambridge Histories Online
As result of a recent review exercise, the Library now offers online access to all available titles in this flagship academic reference series and has instituted a subscription for the addition of annual releases to ensure consistent and comprehensive access for the foreseeable future. Encompassing some 400 volumes, topics addressed encompass a broad range of material in the humanities and social sciences, with a concentration on political and cultural history, literature, philosophy, religious studies, music and the arts.

Muriel Stott Building Summer Closure
Muriel Stott will be closed from 5pm on Friday, 30 May until the next academic year (2025/26). Building works will be taking place for the redevelopment of the space over the Summer period.
