Issues with emails affecting some University systems - update 2

IT Services are aware of an issue affecting some services which send emails, such as the IT Support Portal, Oracle CRM, the older staff email service and others.
Update 2: 11.25am, Friday 9 April 2021
We have completed the work and have seen successful test emails delivered. We continue to monitor the situation to determine if any issues remain. Email messages still waiting to be delivered should arrive within the next two hours.
Update 1: 8:05am, Friday 9 April 2021
The issue has been identified, and we plan to apply a change to the system this morning.
We'll post the next update by 11.30am.
Original message: 3.20pm, Thursday 8 April 2021:
At the moment, emails sent out via these systems aren’t being delivered, meaning that any messages or notifications sent to users through these systems are not being received.
Some staff and postgraduate researchers who have not yet been transferred to Microsoft 365 may also be experiencing issues sending and receiving email. This issue does not affect people who have Microsoft 365 email.
We’re investigating this as a high priority and will post updates as we have them.
