How do we make emotional judgements during reading?

Participants are sought for a study investigating how we judge the emotional state of a protagonist in written stories.

Your task is to read 140 short stories silently and judge the emotional states of the protagonists. Your judgements and response times will be recorded for analysis.

The study typically takes about 60 minutes. You will receive monetary compensation for your participation.

 

*IMPORTANT*

 

Please note that due to the nature of the study:

•    You must be a native speaker of English (English as first language, mother tongue);

•    You must NOT have any reading or learning disabilities (e.g., dyslexia).
