Brain Lateralisation and Cognitive Function – Experiment 3 – Participants wanted aged 40-65

Description

We are looking for volunteers to participate in our study investigating brain lateralisation of different cognitive functions. This experiment will last approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. You will complete a series of computerised memory and attention tests and some standardised pen and paper tasks which further assess cognitive functions including memory, language and problem-solving. All of the materials used in the tests will be non-threatening and non-distressing. The experiment will take place in the Dover Street building at the University of Manchester and you will receive monetary compensation for your time.

To take part, you must fulfil the following criteria:

  •  Be between the ages 40-65
  •  Be right-handed
  •  Be able to take part in the experiment including able to provide informed consent, normal/corrected-to-normal vision and hearing and English fluency.

Because of the nature of the experiment, the following persons will NOT be able to take part:

  •  People with neurological history including previous head injury or concussion.
  •  People with a history of stroke.
  •  People with substantial psychiatric history, including depression (past or present) and anxiety (past or present).
