Neurodivergent people’s experiences of maternity care: A qualitative interview study

Hello,
I am a Clinical and Health Psychology MSc student researcher at the University of Manchester supervised by Dr Debbie Smith and Dr Amber Ruigrok. This study has been granted ethical approval by the University of Manchester’s Research Ethics Committee 3 (ref. 2025-21667-39374).
The aim of this study is to explore neurodivergent people’s experiences of maternity care. Our team would like to connect with people who meet the below criteria and ask them to complete our short survey about themselves, after which they might be invited for an up to 60-minute interview:
- Adults, age 18 orolder;
- Parent (either birthing person or partner)whose youngest child is older than 3 months of age and born after December 2021
- Identify as neurodivergent– either official diagnosis or self-diagnosis
- Live in England or Wales
- Have access tothe internet via a phone, tablet or computer for a Teams interview
- Be able to read and write English
- Not have had a stillbirth, neonataldeath or late miscarriage
