It’s a Numbers Game: The Rise of Dopaminergic Accounting in the Context of Mobile Gaming
Description
Hi everyone — I’m a researcher at The University of Manchester running a study on how in-game numbers and tracking systems (e.g., points, levels, currencies, rewards, streaks, progress bars, timers/energy, events, leaderboards, offers/pricing) shape how people engage with mobile games.
Who can take part:
- Aged 18+
- Play mobile games
- Willing to do one online interview (~60 minutes) via Microsoft Teams
What happens:
An interview with the research team about the mobile games you play, what features you notice, and how those features influence decisions (e.g., when to play, what to prioritise, whether/when to spend).
