About the Research
What do you know about menstrual health and periods? How does menstrual health affect someone’s daily life?
We want to understand:
- What does our student population know about menstrual health and periods
- Do stigma, knowledge gaps and levels of support around menstrual wellbeing influence students’ abilities to engage with their studies at The University of Manchester.
We would like to hear from all students, regardless of your gender, whether you experience periods, or whether you are an undergraduate or postgraduate student.
Taking Part in the Research:
You can take part if:
- You are currently a student (undergraduate or graduate) at the University of Manchester
- You are 18 years or older

Impact and Outcome
This research will help the University improve knowledge and understanding of menstrual health at the University more generally and improve support pathways for students impacted by poor menstrual health and issues such as a period poverty.
*This anonymous survey should take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete for people who do not experience periods and people who have not experienced any periods in the last 12 months. For people who do experience periods, the survey will take approximately 25-30 minutes to complete.
