Brain Lateralisation and Cognitive Function – Experiment 3 – Participants wanted!

Description

We are looking for volunteers to participate in our study investigating brain lateralisation of different cognitive functions. This experiment will last approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. You will complete a series of computerised memory and attention tests and some standardised pen and paper tasks which further assess cognitive functions including memory, language and problem-solving. All of the materials used in the tests will be non-threatening and non-distressing. The experiment will take place in the Dover Street building, and you will receive 5 course credits if you are a Psychology/Cog Neuro BSc or monetary compensation for your time if you are not a student.

To take part, you must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Be between the ages 18-65
  • Be right-handed
  • Be able to take part in the experiment including able to provide informed consent, normal/corrected-to-normal vision and hearing and English fluency.

Because of the nature of the experiment, the following persons will NOT be able to take part:

  • People with neurological history including previous head injury or concussion.
  • People with a history of stroke.
  • People with substantial psychiatric history, including depression (past or present) and anxiety (past or present).
