The lateralisation of attention and memory
Description
We are looking for volunteers to participate in our study investigating how are memories store and process different kinds of information. This experiment will last approximately 2 hours, split over two 1-hour sessions, that will be run on different days. You will study some pictures of everyday objects and your memory for this information will be tested. Using a distant camera, we will also record pupil dilation and eye movement. The experiment will take place on campus.
To take part, you must fulfil the following criteria:
- Be between the ages 18-65
- Be able to take part in the experiment and be able to provide informed consent, normal/corrected-to-normal vision and hearing. Good fluent English is required.
Because of the nature of the experiment, the following persons will NOT be able to take part:
- People with neurological history including previous head injury or concussion.
- People with a history of stroke.
- People with substantial psychiatric history, including depression (past or present) and anxiety (past or present).
- People who have experienced drug or alcohol dependence in the last 12 months.
