Research Opportunity - Investigating the Impact of Mood on Metacognitive Judgment

Description

Ethics ref 22279

A research team from The University of Manchester is recruiting participants to help examine the impact of mood on metacognitive judgment. The study will involve an online survey to assess eligibility and an in-person session with the following activities: questionnaires containing information about one’s recent mood and an online game of decision making. You will first be sent an external link containing some questions that will help us assess your eligibility to the experiment. If you pass the initial screening, we will contact you to arrange an in-person session based on your availability. There are two experimental groups in the present study: a low-mood group and a non-low-mood group. Both groups will complete the same activities. In the online game, you will briefly see an expressionless face, followed by a series of black dots moving in various directions on the computer screening. Your goal is to judge what is the overall direction of the moving dots and rate your confidence of your decision. Participants will be reimbursed for their time after completing the experiment.
