Setting the Stage for Innovation in Teaching and Learning
29 May 2026
Wednesday 17 June, 09:15 – 16:00
Colleagues from across the University are invited to attend the upcoming Teaching and Learning Colloquium, hosted by the Centre for Teaching, Learning and Innovation (CTLI) at Alliance Manchester Business School (AMBS).
This engaging event will brings together colleagues across The University alongside our partners from the University of Arizona, to explore one of the most pressing challenges in higher education: how we design learning experiences that are genuinely fit for purpose in an era shaped by generative AI?
The programme will open with a keynote from Jenn Hallam on Reimagining Teaching and Learning. Following this, participants will take part in three interactive sessions addressing key questions facing the sector:
- How should we evaluate students’ use of AI within assessments?
- How can we move beyond traditional grading towards more meaningful, dialogic feedback?
- How do students develop and demonstrate the transferable skills needed for their futures?
Designed as collaborative, co-creative spaces, each session will encourage participants to challenge assumptions and work together to develop new approaches. The emphasis is not only on discussion, but on producing tangible outputs that can be taken back into teaching practice.
The colloquium offers a valuable opportunity to connect with colleagues, exchange ideas, and collectively shape how we respond to emerging opportunities and challenges in teaching and learning.
Participants are encouraged to come ready to contribute, ask questions, and engage in open dialogue.
