International Marketing students visit Old Trafford

Find out more about partner-enabled learning and in-class engagement activities undertaken in the Retail Marketing and International Marketing course units.

As part of the International Marketing course, students went on an Old Trafford tour at Manchester United and listened to a guest lecture by Ryan Burke, Global Marketing Manager, Manchester United & Adidas. The students were also able to participate in a group challenge anchored by Penny Zhan (Marketing Manager, Homes for Students).

In the Retail Marketing course, students participated in a group challenge providing retail marketing solutions for PepsiCo and Unicorn Grocery, accompanied by guest lectures from Alina Petrozhets (Marketing Manager, PepsiCo) and Debbie Clark (Co-operative Member, Unicorn Grocery). The PepsiCo guest lecturer was followed by an interactive session regarding employment opportunities and career progression for the students.

In both courses, students participated in weekly Mentimeter quizzes that helped to reinforce learning, provide information on gaps in learning, and receive formative feedback. The competitiveness of the weekly quizzes was enhanced by the top three students receiving awards in recognition of their exceptional performance.
