Let's talk partnerships with Chris Garnett

27 Mar 2026

An update from Chris and why he needs your feedback and perspectives.

As I pass the two-month mark in my new role as Partnership Director, I wanted to share a quick update and ask for your help as we continue to shape our approach to partnerships.

I’ve already had a number of insightful conversations with colleagues across the School and wider University and I’m keen to continue this momentum.

One of the most valuable initiatives so far has been securing an MBA project team through the International Business Project (the capstone consulting project of the Full-Time MBA programme).

Since the start of 2026, six full time MBA candidates have been working with us to develop a more strategic approach to partnerships. Their work has focused on clarifying our value proposition, conducting competitor analysis, and mapping the partnership landscape both in the UK and internationally.

The team recently presented their findings, and we are awaiting the final report which will help inform our next steps. We will share more about this soon as it’s a great example of collaboration with our talented MBA community.

Alongside this, I’ve had some extremely positive conversations with colleagues across the University, including the Business Engagement & Knowledge Exchange (BEKE) team, the Innovation Factory, and Unit M. We are building stronger, more consistent links with these teams, and I’m confident this will benefit us all.

I’ve also had the opportunity to connect with many colleagues within the School (both academic and PS) and I want to thank everyone who has taken the time to share their perspectives. These conversations have been invaluable.

While we are building a long term, sustainable approach to partnerships, it’s worth noting that there is already a great deal of exciting activity underway, with conversations progressing with several external organisations.

As we head into the Easter break, I am keen to maintain this momentum and continue engaging with colleagues, particularly those of you with external facing responsibilities.

I’m eager to build a complete understanding of the School’s value proposition and our connections into the external market, and I would welcome your feedback and perspectives.

If you would like to discuss our emerging approach to partnerships and how you might contribute, please do get in touch.

Thanks, Chris
