IT Access
The IT Access route for individuals who will require access as an agency worker, NHS employee, or for work experience purposes.
The form must be completed and submitted by the University employee who is the sponsor/nominating individual to People Services through the People Connect Portal. You must also include photographic ID that also evidences the right to work in the UK of the individual.
Definitions:
Agency Worker:
An agency worker is someone employed by a recruitment agency but working temporarily for the University, usually on short‑term or flexible assignment. They have a contract with the agency and not the University, we pay the agency and not the worker for the work that they do.
NHS Employee / Partner:
These are individuals that are employed and paid by the NHS, but may require access to our systems for a specific purpose to fulfil a partnership with us. An example of this could be a PA to a Consultant who also works at the University and they need to manage their diary.
Work Experience:
This is a short term placement where someone learns about a job by observing and doing real tasks in a work environment. They are usually through schools and colleges, but can also be organised in different ways. Appropriate risk assessments must be completed especially where they are under 18 years of age.
Important:
This form should not be used for Contractors or Personal Service Companies (PSC), these are processed as below:
- Contractors where there is a contract in place with an organisation are processed through the 'Appointment With Related Organisation (AWRO)' route which is managed by IT data.quality@manchester.ac.uk
- Personal Service Companies (PSC) are processed through the The Academic & Affiliate Visitor route
- Contractors where there is not a contract in place with an organisation are processed through the The Academic & Affiliate Visitor route
