Help your team prepare for disruption
22 Oct 2026
A new eLearning package will give managers and colleagues practical guidance to protect critical activities and keep essential services running.
How would your team continue delivering critical services during a cyber incident, building closure, severe weather event, utility failure or staff shortage?
The new Business Continuity eLearning package provides a practical introduction to the University’s approach. It explains how to identify critical activities, dependencies and recovery priorities through a Business Impact Assessment, and how to develop and maintain a Business Continuity Plan.
Being ready to respond helps protect the teaching, research and professional services our students, colleagues and partners rely on. It supports Manchester 2035 by strengthening the resilience needed to deliver our ambitions, even when unexpected disruption occurs.
What managers and business leads need to do
- Complete the Business Continuity eLearning.
- Identify and encourage colleagues in your area who contribute to continuity planning to complete it too.
- Use the learning to review your team’s critical activities and check that local plans remain clear, current and workable.
