Employee Change Request Hub

The Employee Change Request (ECR) Hub is used to manage employee change requests across the University. The hub was introduced in 2024 to replace the Post and Contract Management (PCM) form.

How the Hub Works

ECRs pass through three approval stages. The Hub automatically routes requests to the appropriate approvers. Once the ECR is fully approved, the changes are processed by People Services.

The ECR Hub is used to request the following changes:

• Fixed-term contract extensions
• Funding cost centre changes
• The initiation of or updates to acting up or additional responsibilities arrangements
• Increases or decreases of working hours – Users submitting a ‘Change of hours’ ECR also need to complete a Working Pattern Form in People Connect 
• Conversions from fixed-term to permanent contracts

Requests relating to the following topics should not be submitted through the ECR Hub:

• IT access extensions
• Honorary role extensions
• Visitors
• Appointments and transfers
• Flexible working requests - If the flexible working request involves a change that affects pay (e.g., an increase or decrease in hours), the request should be submitted through the ECR hub
• Line manager changes
• Job title changes  

Getting Access

Please submit a ticket in the IT Connect portal to request access to the ECR Hub.

Access is restricted to line managers and appropriate administrators.

Employees must not submit an ECR to alter their own contract. Employees must ask their manager to submit an ECR on their behalf if they wish to update their own contract.
