Inside the Lenagan Digital Teaching Laboratory: a new space for digital learning

From Manchester, so far – the new Lenagan Digital Teaching Laboratory is a flexible and collaborative space for students to learn, experiment and build skills for the future.

The Faculty’s new Lenagan Digital Teaching Laboratory in the Martin Harris Centre has recently been completed, marking an important development in our teaching and learning environment. Introduced as part of the Size and Shape project, colleagues across SALC, Media Services and Estates worked together to bring to life the state-of-the-art digital space, designed to encourage cross-disciplinary and cross-School working.

The University’s From Manchester for the world strategy sets out its ambition for students: that by 2035 they will be able to co-create their learning to study on their own terms, with flexibility and partner collaboration built into every course, supported by in-person care and a smart digital environment. The development of this new laboratory shows what that ambition can look like in practice, giving students access to the tools and skills they will benefit from beyond graduation and showing how investment in spaces and technology can enhance the student experience.
