methods@manchester: Develop your skills and networks at the Methods Fair and Summer School

19 Apr 2024

You are invited to attend the Methods Fair on Friday 24th May: a day of presentations, posters and workshops led by researchers and PGRs from within – and beyond – the University.

Check out the preliminary programme here.

Or perhaps you want to further develop your skills in a particular methodology over a period of 2-4 days?

Our Summer School courses provide you with the opportunity to learn from experts, meet other researchers and discuss the opportunities and challenges associated with methods in a range of disciplines/settings.

As well as being a place to focus and learn, there is a great social element to the in-person Summer School, with an evening event included, as well as shared breaks and lunches across the courses.

Here are what some of the attendees said last year:

“Fantastic course led by great academics, I felt very welcome throughout”

“An absolutely fantastic Sumer School”

“I really enjoyed my time at the Summer School, thank you for helping to develop my creativity in my research technique”

Find out more about our Summer School here

We also run in-person workshops throughout the year. We have two coming up in May: “Researching Multilingually and Translation as Methods” and “Using MAXQDA for Qualitative Analysis”. You can find out more details and register for each of these here.

If you want to ensure you stay up to date with our events and workshops, sign up to our monthly newsletter, Methods News, here!
