Improved ways to find research information on our websites

05 May 2017

University website and Research Explorer

Research Explorer website

Links to the Research Explorer website, which displays information from Pure, are now included in the University website’s navigation. You can see this in the drop down menu under the ‘Research’ tab. This makes it much more visible and easier for users to find research profiles and other information live in Pure.

It also gives a level of prominence to the Faculties and Schools section within Research Explorer, which is a key way to access information on research activity within our Divisions.

The Faculty Web Team, together with colleagues in the Divisions have been updating the Division pages to detail areas of research activity. A number of these pages feature images – the Division of Informatics, Imaging and Data Sciences page is a good example – and others will follow as and when they are approved.

Faculty website

The search tool on the Faculty website now includes pages from the Research Explorer site when returning results. Therefore, searching for a researcher within the ‘Website’ option will return research profiles within the results, as long they have been made public. We will continue to refine the search function going forward.

Your research profile

To benefit from the improved links to research profiles, please make sure your Pure research profile is public and up-to-date. Guidance is available HERE
