Communications

This February and March visual campaigns and various online resources will be launched to support the Staff Survey 2019. A timeline of this media, as well as key events, can be found below:

February 2019

Staff Survey 2019 website launches
The website will be continuously updated with content as the survey draws closer. This will include progress since the last survey and the link to the current survey once it’s live. Once the survey closes this will be the place to find out about survey response rates, results and key areas of future focus.

Managers’ guidance launches
This newly created portal provides managers with information on everything they’ll need during the survey period. It includes things like a breakdown of your responsibilities and details on data confidentiality to share with your team.

Charity poll launch
For each completed survey, the University will donate £1 to a local charity. From Monday, 4th February until Monday, 11 February we’re asking for staff to vote for the local charities who’ll receive our pledge, by selecting three from a list of eight. Once they’ve completed the survey, they’ll be asked to choose one charity for the University to donate to on their behalf.

Actions from last survey publicised
Improvements based on feedback from the last survey are continuously being made at the University. Actions that have been taken in response to Staff Survey 2017.

Action posters displayed across the University
One of this year’s Staff Survey 2019 communications campaigns will champion actions we’ve taken since the last survey. Posters publicising these actions will be displayed across the University.

Digital assets available for broadcast and local channels
You’ll be given editable PDFs for you to add improvements specific to your Faculty/PS/School/Directorate/Cultural Institution.

March – April 2019

Survey opens
The Staff Survey 2019 launches on Monday, 4 March and runs until Monday, 8 April 2019.

Incentives posters displayed across University
The second round of posters will feature the two main drivers for this year’s survey: the University’s £1 donation to a local charity for each survey submitted, and the chance to win a £250 voucher for a weekend getaway.

Regular promotion on all University channels
Throughout the survey period there will be regular communications publicising it across various broadcast and local channels – including StaffNet, eUpdate, Leaders’ Digest and Faculty/School/Directorate newsletters.

Targeted communication to leaders
During this period, leaders will be specifically targeted to ensure they are encouraging their teams to take part in the survey. This will include the publication of response rate results.
