Action plans

The University is committed to taking action as a result of the survey. Actions specific to the University as a whole will be governed by the leadership team, and those that relate to actions within the Faculty/PS/School/Directorate/Cultural Institution will be owned by the respective head.

Once we have the survey results we will run focus groups on key issues raised to help us to gain a deeper understanding of the issue and decide what action we can take.

Your area’s action plan

Action plans should be created in response to survey results and every Faculty/PS/School/Directorate/Cultural Institution is required to develop one. Heads of Faculty/PS/School/Directorate/Cultural Institution are responsible for ensuring actions are completed, whilst giving individual members of staff some ownership.

Teams are responsible for identifying the support and resources needed to deliver their action plans. Your HR Partner will meet with Heads of Faculty/PS/School/Directorate/Cultural Institution as the reports are circulated to help you determine messaging, focus groups and team action planning. Templates and guides will also be provided to support planning, help facilitate conversations with staff and ensure that a maximum of three actions can be identified.

Capita offer support with action planning but this is a chargeable service which would come out of your area's budgets. We ask that you work with your HR Partner in the first instance, before deciding if additional support is necessary.

If individual departments or teams wish to develop their own action plan, that’s encouraged, however it must link to the wider action plan of their School/Directorate.
