Private Jobs: A change to the non-advertised / direct named process
04 Jul 2025
As part of our ongoing commitment to continuous improvement and in response to colleague feedback, we have reviewed the non-advertised and direct named process to better align with the new functionality in our Recruitment system, JobTrain, known as Private Jobs.
How does it work?
1. Initiating the Vacancy:
- Hiring managers continue to use the existing process: complete the pro-forma and select the non-advertised route.
- The approval workflow remains the same.
2. Key Change:
- Instead of the hiring manager emailing a generic application link to the candidate, they now include the candidate’s full name and contact email in the job notes during submission for approval.
3. After Approval:
- Once the job is fully approved, the Recruitment team sends the candidate a link to the specific job they will be working in, so the candidate can submit their details directly.
- The Recruitment team also notifies the hiring manager when the candidate has completed this step.
4. Final Steps:
- The hiring manager can then complete the starter form
Benefits
- The candidate applies to a specific job, not a generic listing.
- Reduces the administrative burden on hiring managers.
- Enhances clarity and professionalism in the candidate journey.
This functionality has been tested by the Recruitment team, with a limited number of roles trialled on a pilot basis within FBMH and FSE. Feedback received has been positive, indicating that the process is clearer and has proceeded smoothly.
Thank you to colleagues that have supported this pilot – your involvement has been invaluable.
