Focus on Men's Heakth and Wellbeing - Strength in Openness

The month of November marks important campaigns focused on men’s physical and mental health, including International Men’s Day UK Tuesday, 19 November and Movember.

Our focus on men’s health and wellbeing in November draws on the specific theme of ‘Strength in Openness’. Men’s health and mental health are often spoken about in statistics, but we want to move past the numbers to hear the stories and open the conversation. Talking about men’s health in the workplace is important as it presents more opportunity to raise awareness and to help provide support.

To help start this conversation and encourage more openness in talking about these topics, the Colleague Wellbeing and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Teams are coming together to host a panel event:

Wednesday 26 November

‘Strength in Openness: A Panel Discussing Men’s Physical and Mental Health at Work’

12:00 – 13:15

In-person, Coupland 1_G.38

Join us for an open, honest conversation on the experiences, challenges and opportunities around men’s health and mental wellbeing in today’s workplace.

This panel brings together colleagues to share experiences and perspectives on the key issues affecting men today.

We’ll explore:

  • The pressures men experience in relation to  work, family life, and personal wellbeing
  • The stigma that keeps so many silent - and steps we can take to break it
  • Practical insights for creating workplaces where men’s health and wellbeing feels supported.

Who Should Attend

Everyone - male colleagues, allies, managers, leaders, support service colleagues. We open the door to all colleagues and ask you to join this important conversation on men’s health and wellbeing.

If you are currently struggling and in need of help, please access support pages provided by International Men’s Day UK.
