Review and Close

The Close of project will occur when all objectives as per the time schedule have been completed or when it has become apparent that the project is no longer viable for some reason. The Project Initiation Document and approved Business Case is Reviewed to check the results of the project against the original objectives and approved changes.

The main outputs within this stage will be the completion of the Project Closure Report and Lessons Learned Reports.

The final document produced by the Project and is used by the Project Portfolio Board and Programme Management Board to assess the success of the project, benefits realised, identify best practices for future projects, resolve all open issues, and formally close the project.

Lessons Learned Report

At the end of a project, the Lessons Learned report is intended to be a summary of any Lessons Learned during the project that can be usefully applied to other projects.
