Design and Plan

The Design and Plan activity follows immediately after the Business Case has been approved. This stage brings together all the key information acquired through the Scoping and Define stages of the project, including the Business Case, and defines in detail the approach to the management and implementation of the project and the basis for assessment of its overall success. This stage also clarifies if the deliverables have an impact on any other projects and if further governance routes are applicable (E.g. IT Project Management Office sign-off).

The main output within this stage will be a Project Initiation Document (PID) which provides the framework for Project Implementation
