Preparing Canvas content for 2026/27

11 Jun 2026

The Humanities eLearning team is now managing the process of copying over content from 2025/26 Canvas courses to 2026/27 courses. This is to provide a structured starting point, allowing academic colleagues to focus on updating and enhancing materials rather than rebuilding from scratch.

The eLearning team is aware that some colleagues would like different course content in 2026/27, or that the course might not have been delivered in 2025/26. Updates will be provided in due course.

What this means

  • 2025/26 course content will be copied automatically into the relevant 2026/27 course shell. Changes in semester have been factored into this process.
  • The template for courses will remain the same as for 2025/26.
  • Courses will begin to appear in Canvas from Tuesday 16 to Monday 22 June.
  • From w/c 22 June, enrolments should slowly be added.
  • To allow for completion of the process, please do not make any changes to these courses until Tuesday 23 June.

What do I need to do to prepare my courses for 2026-27?

Courses should be rolled over but I cannot see my course

Colleagues should contact their School Curriculum and Programmes/Course Units team to confirm that their course has been scheduled and, if so, that they have been correctly added in Campus Solutions with the correct permissions.

If you are still having issues, please get in touch with the Humanities eLearning Team.
