New process for capturing actions taking in response to student voice

22 May 2026

Colleagues across SEED are being urged to use our new 'Student Voice: You Said, We Did' tracker to log feedback from students and the actions they are taking because of this.

Across the School, staff are responding to feedback and suggestions from students on a daily basis, but the actions taken as a result are not always visible to students and colleagues.

Student feedback can come via many routes, including Student Voice Committees, National Student Surveycheck‑ins, Unit Surveys (UEQs) and programme committees. Actions taken as a result of feedback are currently tracked in multiple ways – through meeting minutes, emails, spreadsheets, etc – or sometimes not tracked at all. This means that actions taken are not always reported or publicised and that staff are subjected to multiple requests for information about the actions they’ve taken.

The new ‘Student Voice: You Said, We Did’ tracker addresses this issue. The tracker uses a simple Microsoft Form to log student feedback and actions that will be or have been taken as a result.

The form can be completed by any member of staff. It is designed to be completed at any point in the process from when you decide to act as a result of feedback until after actions have been completed.

The form is designed to be quick and easy to complete, with a focus on providing consistency without complexity. Colleagues answer a small number of open questions which are submitted to IAG, the TLSE team responsible for Student Voice activities.

The information collated provides us with a whole school view and can be referred to for reporting for NSS, committees and other purposes. The aim is to provide staff with a quick one-stop shop to report actions taken because ofthe student voice, rather than facing multiple requests for evidence.

The goal is a shared, sustainable approach to student voice to build a “Your Voice, Our Action” evidence bank. Colleagues are encouraged to bookmark the tracker form on their web browser to enable easy access.
